Herbal 'Coffee'

Dark and smooth with slight bitter notes, this caffeine-free coffee alternative warms one up without the unwanted jittery aftereffects.
Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon roasted dandelion root
  • 1 tablespoon roasted chicory root
  • 1 tablespoon carob powder
  • 1 date, pitted
  • 3 cups water
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
  2. Lower heat and allow the mixture to simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat, strain and serve.
